If you’re new to Linux this video will help explain some useful networking commands while using Linux. These commands can enable you to quickly troubleshoot different connection issues.

hostname – Finding host/domain name and IP address
ping – Test network connection
ifconfig – Getting network configuration
netstat – Network connections, routing tables, interface statistics
nslookup – Query DNS lookup name
traceroute – Routing steps that packets take to get to network host
