This video covers how to compile and install Audacity on Ubuntu Linux. A fresh install of Ubuntu was used to make sure no steps were missed. We covered everything step-by-step from downloading the dependencies to compiling and installing Audacity.

Instructions:
System Settings ? Software and Updates ? Enable Source Code ? Close ? Reload

Open a terminal (press Ctrl + Alt + T)
sudo apt build-dep audacity

sudo apt install git
git clone…

    When i launched the make, I received this error:
    /usr/local/audacity/src/AudioIO.cpp:4001: undefined reference to `PaUtil_GetTime'

    I've found, for example, for a debug build that will work with ffmpeg :
    ./configure CXXFLAGS="-std=gnu++11" –disable-dynamic-loading –with-portaudio=local –enable-debug
