It took me 3 days to find solution that works.

NEW VERSION for Electrum 3.0.6 is here:

1. Puppy Linux ISO has only 220 MB. Download ubuntu-compatible ISO from
2. Rufus – download portable version from
3. Create bootable USB using Rufus, selecting ISO of Puppy Linux
3. Boot from USB to Puppy Linux
4. Create Save File – if not, all system changes and user file changes will be forgotten on reboot

  1. Hi again!
    Electrum version has updated to v3 and I cannot run the new version with your instructions.

    I've also tried to install the dependencies from the electrum website "Download" section,
    and while I can install Electrum, it will not run!

    I get this error:
    "ImportError: No module named 'sip'

    BUT I do have python-sip installed! I've tried uninstalling and re-installing.. nothing works 🙁

    Maybe you can create a new video for Electrum v3? thanks!

    It will be nice to see procedure how to backup our wallet, and on which parts to pay attention, and where our wallet and critical files are stored on system, and which parts of them must be hold as far as possible from others.
