A link to the fix I used:

After a couple of months with this problem I seem to have found out that the fast startup feature Windows 8 has was causing this problem. It’s funny cause when it’s disabled the computer actually starts up and shutdown alot quicker than when it was enabled.

Edit: Windows 8 goes a hard freeze / lockup black screen and the monitor will go into standby. I can’t do anything but restart…

  1. 1 put it to Slumer mode
2 wake it up "After 10 sec"
    3 restart the system
4 After its restartet, shut it down
    5 start it again

if this does not help you to log on, try contacting your local computer company "store" and let them help you "Flash your bios" in most cases theese steps helps

  2. I read the answer on the forums and kinda curious what did method did you use to fix it.? Did you enable the fast boot or disabled it? then how did you go to control panel with the blackscreen on? Please answer thank you!

I've noticed that it only happens if I start a game within the first minute of booting so this is looking likely to be same issue.

  5. I still have this problem. I've tried stable and beta graphics drivers, testing the RAM, resetting my overclock on my cpu, scanning hard disk for errors. Nothing has worked and all tests have come back fine. I'm starting to think it could be a problem with the motherboard as I've had problems with it in the past.
