Ubuntu takes about 35 seconds to boot
Windows 7 takes about a minute to boot

It takes a lot of work to keep crap from being installed on windows e.g: The stupid utility that came with the digital camera, the browser add-ons that came with some other crap etc. Its due to anti-virus systems and all that junk that windows always gets so slow so fast. Six months later you couldn't get that machine as fast again if you spent a week. Microsoft's Windows = Hobby Computer OS gone idiot's play thing OS. Linux = the evolution of university quality OS for real computer users.
