  1. Thanks, this worked. But had to Rclick desktop icon, not taskbar, to find the options menu. Could be because of Windows changes over the past few month. This was very useful.

  2. Thanks so much Planet Izzy! My Google Maps was excruciatingly slow to move the maps around with the mouse. Your tip fixed it up perfectly! I'm not sure why Google Maps would need "compatibility" mode, so I sure would like to know why this was needed for such a mainstream app. Thanks and cheers!!
Update: I had to turn on 'hardware acceleration' in Chrome Settings for Maps to be fast again; otherwise still slow.

  3. Thanks for the video. Still no luck! I've tried everything (disabling smooth scroll and hardware acceleration, as well as this and other tips. Still a huge lag when I type anything or scroll. Very annoying. I'm just going to switch to Firefox.

  4. nice job man!!! I tried everything reinstalling, went to system settngs, google update servce blah blah nothing worked except this simple thing. Now it's back again thanks for sharing!!

  5. Good grief, worked brilliantly, I've been pulling my hair out especially while on Twitter, has been taking an age to reload for such a long time, works like a dream now.
Good find, no idea where you found it but many thanks for sharing 🙂

  6. indeed helpful, was a little sceptic that it would resolve my issue. but it turned out it did. 🙂
not sure what settings it changed, but a few days ago it started taking up to 30 sec loading a page. didnt help clearing cache, restarting closing other programs and such.
however this solution cut the time down to the "normal" 2-3 seconds load 🙂

    Thank you.

  7. I had low expectation but this worked.. I knew something wasn't right.. my system is an 8 core system at 4ghz with 32gb of memory… I figured it was windows 10 in general .. I was having major speed issues and sluggishness on tvguide's web site trying to get listings and so I decided to try with firefox, it was silky smooth, so was edge…

I tried this and it drastically improved the performance, not 100% up to snuff but tons better, perfectly acceptable .. and everything else is screaming fast now.

    KUDOS!
