Video Edit: Starting at the 4:25 time stamp, instead of typing the following: sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/Godot.desktop

Type this instead: gedit ~/.local/share/applications/Godot.desktop

  1. But really you should be placing custom .desktop files into ~/.local/share/applications
    It's recommended to not modify anything in /usr unless it's a package managed by the package manager of your system in modern Linux systems.
