  1. OMG, THANK YOU so much. This sidebar made me hate my Dell purchase that much more. But thanks to this tutorial, that very unnecessary feature is no longer distracting and irritating πŸ™‚ !!

  2. Yeah, both new DWord strings were already there. All I had to do was change the valuedata to 1. Awesome.

I'm a writer and whenever I'm updating a manuscript I spend a lot of time moving the cursor from the body of the text, directly left, to the search field where I can enter surrounding text to help me find the next thing I need to change. Moving the mouse to the left activates the damn charms bar which I have NO USE FOR.

I hope this works [crosses himself like a Catholic].

  3. I had the charms sounds on my free version of Windows 10 and had to go to:

    Settings then
    Personalization then
    Themes then
    Sounds then
    Advanced Sound Settings then
turn off the sounds and save the changes

  4. Dude. I freaking love you! That slow steady thumping noise that you have been hearing over the past few months was the sound of me hitting my head against the wall every time the charms bar mysteriously showed up. Thanks again.

  5. hey, I am still getting the charms bar after using your registry trick and natively disabling. when i swipe fast from right to left on my touchpad it appears. this interferes with almost every operation in daily use. I have windows 8.1. any help buddy?
