  1. Thanks so much for this. It was slow going, but eventually I was able to get through the steps. It was running Command as administrator and then chkdsk /r /f that did it for me. Found 2 bad clusters in Windows Explorer file. Also found an issue with Chrome. If I had turned my laptop over to the techs at work, they would have reimagine – their solution for everything.

  2. This did not work for me. None of these items were causing the problem. WHAT FINALLY WORKED FOR ME was UNINSTALLING WINZIP 12 and getting it off of my machines. This is what finally fixed this most vexing problem on BOTH of my Windows 7 64-bit Machines..

  3. Hey, nice of you to make this video but I have a slightly different issue. Sometimes when I start up my computer I will see the Windows Explorer has stopped working message and upon clicking "Close and restart" (or w/e the option is called) it starts and it's all good. So I can't really check if any of the start up services are at fault since it doesn't happen often. The rest are so far all good.

  4. Hey bro please help me….Today I inserted a Cd of Gta Vice city in my gaming laptop and then there came a notification that windows explorer is not responding …then suddenly my laptop shut down….I restarded it …it opened after a long time and the game is not running please help me

  5. when i use sfc /scannow i see a table that says system integrity check and repair has stopped working a problem caused the program to stop working correctly.Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is know how to solve this?

  6. Ok. I really hoped this video can help. But to no avail. Step 1 made it to 100%. Still got the error. Step 2 nothing changed. Step 3 graphic card is up to date. Step 4 I only use firefox/chrome. Step 5 disabled all. Step 6 malwarebytes scanned, found some suspicious signatures, quarantine them all. Step 7 ccleaner crashed. Installed Auslogics Registry Cleaner. Fixed some registry's. Step 8 scan done. No RAM errors. Step 9 system restore point to old.
Conclusion: still get the explorer error after seconds or minutes after I open it up. F***!
