  1. it looks like you're getting errors in your UI, the package is installed as you check with the package manager, but the drivers are not getting used by Ubuntu (you need to confirm that with the X server). If you follow the error messages closely you will see that X windows is actually defaulting to software rendering.

  3. I have installed and tried this on most flavors of Ubuntu 16.04 and followed the instructions for the 17.10 driver perfectly and i only get a black screen upon reboot! I have a rx580 with a Z170 gigabyte board and a 6100 i3. Next i will try to remove the graphics card and first install drivers and then plugging it in and see if that can help, but i doubt it! I need hdmi sound to use this computer as a mediaplayer. I will most probably return this card and get a Nvidia card as those drivers works really well and are very easy to install on any ubuntu. Amd driver support is truly bad. I read so much good about the open source driver and when i finally get a card i figure out that hdmi sound doesn't work out of the box. I prefer amd because of open source drivers but if it doesnt work it doesnt. After a day of trying to get this to work i am about done!

  4. Again R7 370 is not supported !!! After installation : fucking black screen, and no calculation possible within cli. AMD, where are you ? What are you doing ! I've just bought 2 of these for GPU Computing ! 270 € !!!

  5. Erm…I get the boot grub on startup and when I enter Ubuntu it shows a screen telling me that low graphics mode is turned on. When I continue, I'm just stuck on a black screen with some pointless text.

  6. IF you install this (Linux) and get a black screen or forced into a login loop. Uninstall the amdgpu-pro and then reinstall it with "./amdgpu-pro-install –compute" without quotes. You can get into terminal even if in black screen by cntrl+alt+F2 Good luck
