How to Install Google IME on Windows 8.1

Video is ready, Click Here to View ×

This is just a quick video on how to install the Google IME, which is superior to the Microsoft IME. I’m installing it in Windows 8.1, but it should also be very similar to how to do it in Windows 8. In order for everything to work properly, you should also install the Japanese language pack: PC settings : Time and Language : Region and Language : Then click on Add language and add Japanese. This will install Japanese fonts support.

  1. Its actually not superior, but has different strengths. Google IME handwriting recognition is incredibly bad, Microsoft IME recognizes everything even if your proportions and stroke order are a mess. Google's user dictionary and so on is more comfortable though. So basically you want both 😀
