Root Galaxy S3 on Windows:

  1. i have noticed on the mac when you do this, next to the password there is a little key and when you go to type your password it shows nothing, but still type your password in and press enter. it will work even though you cant see it.

  2. I'm having problems running this on Linux Ubuntu Mate 14.04 64bit on a S3 SGH-I747M.

I run the Linux script and get the following error:

./adb-linux: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    Anyone else have this problem?

  3. While your efforts are greatly appreciated, I knew this was too good to be true. From what I've read rooting a Samsung Galaxy is a pretty long process to be successful, and of course, this one being the simplest process I've ever come across is no longer successful. I'm running 4.4.2. on Sprint and this doesn't work. Once you've completed all the steps, Superuser will report an error that states "The Superuser binary (su) must be updated", the Installation will fail, and report "send a log of the error to the developer". So basically you can't use any "rooted" apps.

  4. [*] Press enter to root your phone…

    [*] Waiting for device…
    * daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
    * daemon started successfully *
    [*] Device found.
    [*] Pushing exploit…
    4507 KB/s (1283460 bytes in 0.278s)
    [*] Pushing root tools…
    4350 KB/s (366952 bytes in 0.082s)
    4549 KB/s (1867568 bytes in 0.400s)
    5198 KB/s (1578585 bytes in 0.296s)
    pkg: /data/local/tmp/Superuser.apk
    [*] Rooting phone…
[+] This may take a few minutes.
[-] Failure.   Why does it say failure?
    [*] Cleaning up…
[*] Exploit complete. Press enter to reboot and exit.

i did everything you said and it doesnt work
i have version 4.3 jelly bean on sgh-i747m canadian version

  5. I have a S3 running 4.3 and I keep getting Failure at the end. A message also pops up on my phone saying "an application attempted to access system on your device without authorization…"
    any suggestions?

  6. obviously it only work son 4.1.2
sooooo….if you have anything HIGHER than that……DON'T TRY IT. I have 4.3 and to do this I'd have to revert my O.S.
    looks promising.

  7. Fails every single time. Working with a Telus i747m running stock 4.3. I follow every step via Terminal and get:
    [*] Rooting phone…
[+] This may take a few minutes.
    [-] Failure.
    [*] Cleaning up…
[*] Exploit complete. Press enter to reboot and exit.

SuperUser still shows up but root doesn't occur – verified after every attempt with Root Checker from the Play Store. What is the issue and how can it be rectified in order to obtain root?
