hi robert, after thousands of tricks to eliminate connecting and disconnecting of wifi issue in my HP notebook laptop win 10, by turning off firewall, the speed is blazing and connecting/disconnecting issue is very less!! should i turn off firewall *forever*(antivirus bit defender on)
My firewall was turned off the whole time and on Team Fortress 2 it still says "Update Queued" and when I press play It goes to a screen that says content servers unreachable. Also all the pages on steam except for Library says " Error Code: -130"
In Windows Advanced Security (window's default list of firewall rules), there are a lot of inbound and outbound rules that are by default 'allowed', but disabled. Should disabled connections that are allowed or not, become active at all, for example when a related program to a rule requests them?
Also, windows firewall set up for incoming rules such as 'block connections that are not on the list of allowed' does not differentiate between disabled or enabled. I would have thought being disabled, any rule would be ignored and therefore allowed, but I don't know about becoming active on their own. Outgoing connections that are allowed but disabled seem to connect anyway (rule for outgoing is 'block connections that are not allowed by a window firewall rule')
So I recently got my laptop with Windows 10 and I downloaded Norton security to protect it, I had to uninstall McAfee to download it and I think it turned off my fire wall. When I go to turn it back on it won't let me click on the sentence which says turn firewall off or on, what do I do?
My firewall is off. There is absolutely nothing to click to turn it on no matter what I do. So, now what? Is windows firewall seperate from McAffee? I mean, shouldn't I be able to turn the windows firewall on without buying McAffee?
