This is a guide to show you how to install MS office 2003 or 2007 , this works on other distros as well.

For Office 2007

Anti Aliasing

  1. I switched from mint 10 to ubuntu 13.04, because I was tired of the old GUI interface (KDE didn't work well for me) and all the packages in the repositories were outdated. other than that with was a workhorse and worked well. I tried replacing all the repository files with more modern 11.04 ones and I failed so hard I was forced to reinstall, so I just installed 12.04, and had a whole new set of problems, but better than "update manager failed" errors…

  2. @sunnyheroe Theme: I just reduced the transparency of the panels, this is done by right clicking and clicking on properties and put a cool wallpaper.

Did you read the description for office 2007? Try it and if that doesn't work, use crossover linux. It works but is available as a 30 day free trial. It comes for 37 euros

  3. @SteveVaiJemini Let's say that you are doing a project with other people and they are using office. Word compatibility is great but powerpoint tends to be a bit messy in my experience and this helps people keep linux and still use ms office if they have to.
    Otherwise Openoffice is perfect!
