  1. Quick question. I tried to download RStudio but for some reason I cannot run the executable. Then I downloaded the zip file corresponding to my system (W8.1) and once finished, I just extracted the folder to my computer. I open the extracted folder and clicked on the RStudio icon in it. I could open the RStudio environment by just clicking the icon and I see the same interface you portrait in your video. Since this approach is completely different from what you explained, and given the fact I did not install the RStudio but just extracted a folder: Is there any additional step I should do? Is my RStudio will work properly? (FYI, R was already installed in my computer).

  2. hi AndrewBray, well explained i successfully installed R but, i encountered a small problem  i opened the website and clicked on download desktop version it is not detecting my operating system hence i downloaded
RStudio 0.99.441 – Windows XP/Vista/7/8  is it ok

  3. For those who are running Linux, installing R is even easier.  If it's a Debian based system just open the terminal and type "sudo apt-get install r-base" and that's it.  You can also search for it from your software manager searching for "cran r" and then it's just a one click install.
