  1. Every time I did this, I got upset how KDE is not my choice. It's cool if You rock something like i7 with good gpu, fast hdd, but for my i5 it never worked out. Unity is still better if You are using Ubuntu, also You can easily configure openbox with tint2 (panel), nitrogen (for wallpaper) and gnome power manager (for locking screen), and it will run far time better.
