Whether you’ve recently purchased a new PC with Windows 8 on it, or you have a little experience with older versions of Windows, or you just want to see what the new features of Windows 8 are, this class is for you.

This course is for the novice user who has little or no experience with Windows 8, or an…

  1. I have win 8.1. Is it close enough to win 8 to make it worthwhile taking this course. I should say that I considered myself a power win user until I bought my surface pro 3 with win 8.1. I hardly use it since even the most basic operations require much searching and time wasting frustration. As I have 3 win 7 computers available, it is just too easy to ignore my new expensive paperweight.

  2. I just finished your beginners lesseons 1-12.I would love to go ahead. And i don't mind you telling me how to get a constant supply from stage to stage.I am in Germany.Any personal advice?

  3. Thank you so very much Richard….wow, I can't believe Windows 8…I feel like I've never worked with a computer before, lol. I'm trying to figure out how to get to Windows Explorer. Is it completely gone or how do I get to see all my files, folders, drives, etc. I'm completely lost there. I just want my old start menu with all the programs!!

  4. Hello, I can't figure out how to do a new comment…….I guess that would be my first question (lol). I'm using Windows 8 on a laptop and I'm trying to find the place where I can delete the cookies etc as my computer seems to be getting slower and slower. thanks

  5. Thank you so much for these videos. I got my new laptop a few days ago and all I knew how to do was turn it on! After watching your videos, which are so thorough, I have my laptop the way I want it now, including the start button. So much easier to navigate with it. I totally agree with you about Windows 8 start screen; a touch UI should NOT be on a laptop (mine is not a touchscreen)!! Thanks again for your time. I am now starting to go over your other videos, specifically, Excel.

  6. Thank you. I am expecting my new Windows 8 computer tomorrow. You are an EXCELLENT teacher..take it from another teacher. The only thing that I learned so far that really bothers me is that Windows 8 can't use POP emails. I understand how to do what you said..but it is a royal pain in the butt!! And I will have to teach it to my husband and a friend who are also getting Windows 8 🙁
Will finish up the rest of the videos in a bit. I made it through # 8.

  7. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for these wonderful videos… You are an awesome teacher and made learning Windows 8 fun and as painless as possible… I am SO HAPPY to have my START key back! 🙂 The presentations were well organized, well laid out, and very easy to follow.

  8. I understand where you're coming from. I was shocked by the major changes in Windows 8 too… and if you get all the way through this course, in the LAST lesson I show you how to make Win8 look like Win7 (or even WinXP) so you don't have to deal with the awful new Start Screen (which I hate, too). Under the hood, Win8 is actually REALLY nice. They've made a lot of improvements to the speed and performance. I just wish the GUI was better.
