Plank is the best dock software, catering to the needs of both beginner and advanced Linux users. With Plank, getting work done is simply a faster process.

Run the below commands in the terminal to get plank for Ubuntu, Linux Mint and derivitives.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/docky
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install plank

For Arch Linux, Antergos, Manjaro, Apricity OS
sudo pacman -S plank

  1. I think Latte Dock, the new dock made for KDE is the best. But Plank is much lighter in resource usage. And, Latte has more features. I do not know if Latte Dock works in other desktop environments besides KDE.

  2. Great review! I got a bit of shock hearing you swear (I wasn't offended mate!) – not use to hearing the word "shit" in an Indian accent! Good stuff mate! Have you reviewed and looked at Synergy? (plank and synergy are my two "must have" Linux applications!)
