In this video, I give you a quick tip on how to save a little bit more space on your SSD. Basically, I show you how to limit the write actions from your Chrome and Firefox browsers. Please don’t forget to like the video, if you enjoyed!

  1. Notice that chromium says "Disable cache (while DevTools is open)". This is a feature for web developers. Once you close DevTools, the cache is automatically re-enabled.

    The easiest way to disable cache in chrome/chromium is to browse in incognito mode.

  2. I know latest Firefox reviews comes in tarballs so it could be installed on external non-SSD hard drive. This way you won't have to limit cache of the browser. IMO Firefox on SSD with 0 cache will show up faster start up times and slow loading of web pages, on non-SSD – faster loading of web pages but slightly slower with the time. So cleaning the cache is an option to speed things up.
