I noticed after installing Ubuntu Linux on an older laptop that it was running faster than a dual core vista machine I was working on at the same time. I decided to boot them up together to see which one is faster.
The 32bit UBUNTU system is an HP DV2000 Series single core 32 bit Centrino machine built for XP with 2 GB of RAM.
The 32bit VISTA laptop is an HP DV2000 Series 32/64bit AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core machine built for Vista with 2 GB of RAM.
