Canonical launches their new smartphone OS. I ask them what the difference is between Ubuntu Mobile OS and Ubuntu for Android on mobile.

This video was filmed at CES 2013 with the Panasonic GH3 (12-35mm lens): on a Steadicam Merlin 2 with vest:

  1. It makes no sense for Ubuntu not to run on top of Android, that was what Canonical had been talking about for over a year, and now they decide to switch strategy? Non-Android Ubuntu is not going to work.

  2. You could have pinged me the more useful questions to my IRC chat live while I was live streaming the interview from my headmounted display so I could have asked those more useful ones also (but my headmounted IRC wasn't working during that interview)

  3. I am really looking forward to Ubuntu Mobile OS but Firefox OS is also interesting. I think they both have a big chance in taking a bite of the market. Tizen, Sailfish/Jolla and others are also promising contestants but as a user of Firefox in an Ubuntu desktop environment i am more inclined to purchase a phone with FF OS or Ubuntu OS and i think this applies to many of us.
