  1. "Do you use the external IP address?"…"Yes."

    NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

    Not unless you want everyone on the internet to be able to access the login page. Only use the internal IP of your SSH tunnel point or the range of the internal VLANs you want to be able to access. You can put in the range for your VPN IP pool if you want to be able to access it remotely. But I do not recommend putting in your external IP address.
