virtual box, Windows XP: get the internet working

This is how to get Windows XP internet working on virtual box.
The driver used was downloaded from
Note the driver I used was for a 32 bit virtual machine.
I have gotten quite a few questions on how to setup a shared folder, let me know if this video helps

Dylan Rogers https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZISUWP0rHR9UT1ajPxfPJw "Hey if anyone is trying to get internet using XP on virtual box with a wired connection then this is for you: under the network settings tab, make sure you enable the network adapter, Attach to NAT, under Advanced change Adapter Type to PCnet-FAST III, allow VM's under Promiscuous Mode, and check Cable Connected. I had to fiddle around a lot with the settings but I finally got it working for me. Hope this helps you guys out too."

  2. When i try to run the intel thing it says: "The procedure entry point EncodePointer could no be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll" help.

  3. i cant setup a shared folder, i get 2 errors. one error says, "Failed to create the shared folder g (pointing to C:UsersadminDesktopg) for the virtual machine IE6 – WinXP.

    The machine is not mutable or running (state is Saved).

    Result Code: VBOX_E_INVALID_VM_STATE (0x80BB0002)
    Component: SessionMachine
    Interface: IMachine {b2547866-a0a1-4391-8b86-6952d82efaa0}"

  4. I always thing this doesnt work cause the first thing I try to do is go to google lol, thanks for the tutorial I have had to watch this like three times
