This is a quick tutorial on how to fix errors saying that DirectX is no longer present on your system after upgrading to Windows 10. The normal DirectX runtime web installer is fully compatible with Windows 10, and will install the older versions for you, since Windows 10 only comes with DirectX 12.

Make sure you update your graphics drivers, too!!

  1. Nah nah this is a goose chase, trust me and just identify you graphics card or chip and proceed on to the manufacturers website for example Nvidia or AMD and from there look up your card or graphic chips model number and download the latest driver for your system install it and this fixed my problem without even needing to reboot but it is always good practice to restart your system after installing or updating!

  2. My Windows 10 is telling me that I have DirectX 12 and detects no problems but there was a recent update and now I can not play Anno 1404 because it is telling me Failed to initialize DirectX. What is up with that?

  3. I have the error where when I try to run plants s zombies garden warfare 2, it says my computer does not meet minimum requirements because it says that I have directx and it need directx 11 to run, I am so confused so sorry if this is a dumb question but will this help that error?

  4. All it said was ''DirectX setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already. No installation is necessary.'' And this is a huge problem for me, since the newest version wont let me run old games, which fucking sucks.. how can i fix this?
