This video tutorial shows those new to Windows 8.1 the basics needed to get around the new Windows 8 user interface. The Windows “Start Menu” has been replaced by the “Start Screen” & “Charm Bar”.

  1. I had windows 8 until windows 10 and for some reason I don't remember much about it haha, except that the whole design worked and looked much better on a tablet.

  2. did they update start screen so you cant put 2 medium and 1 wide all beside each other without creating a space and new column? It does't let me and puts in a new group.

  3. Seriously don't get why people hate/hated Windows 8.1 . If you don't like how it's set up go back to older versions or stop bitching and learn how to use it. Everyone has to complain about everything. If a 4 year old can learn how to use 8.1 then don't act like it's the hardest thing in the world. Windows 8.1 isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. People weren't bitching about how bad 8.1 is when they got Windows 10 but willingly learned how to use Windows 10? Cry me a river.

  4. Really, people still hating 8.1? Even after a loooong tutorial like this? All I can think about it is that or ye are a bunch of fools/noobs, or ye're just hating for fashion· Like ye, probably the same ones did the same about Vista, backward ones· Windows 8.1 is clean, simple, the only issue is that many interface elements are hidden, but it's a need for the Metro concept, if all was apparent, there wouldn't be Metro, wouldn't be that clean and simple· But most people can't/won't find out· Tutorials exist to overcome this·

  5. I have to buy a new laptop, and since they all come with 8.1 or 10, I am not looking forward to relearning all this BS. FFS talk about making life difficut for your customers!! Could I get rid of this OS and install an older version when I buy my new laptop? Or will I be stuck with this crap for eternity?

  6. My problem with Windows 8 is privacy. In order to use any of these apps, you have to create an account with Microsoft, you have to give them your full name, email, phone #, gender, birth date. Then they can send you a "code" to access these. Yeah they won't give that info out, ha ha ha. Windows 10 is worse for security of your personal info.
