The only problem setting it at Native resolution 1920 x 1080 is that not all applications and texts to read would be larger. Even if you increase the DPI texts and fonts size, VLC player won't make the status bar and icons bigger. That's why I'm staying with Windows XP. And I'm staying with Windows XP from now on. No more upgrade for me. I don't want to waste my money having to buy a new computer every four years. I'm staying with it even for 20 more years.
There's really no different between windows 8 and 7 since most of their applications are the same. The only different is the boot screen menu. Windows XP 64 bit is the best operating system in my opinion and you can exceed more than 4GB memory RAM only on XP 64 bit. with the latest upgrade I have, Windows XP booted very fast. And it's very clear on the screen and easier for me to read things on the screen at 1280 x 768 resolution. I don't like the native one since most texts are small.
